Data guide
Connecting fuel records with other business systems
Define the data exchange before assuming that two systems are compatible.

01Identify the business question
Decide whether the requirement is mileage capture, offsite purchase reconciliation, maintenance analysis, accounting or reporting across different hardware.
02Describe the required data
List identifiers, timestamps, quantities, units, costs and correction records. Agree which system owns each field and how duplicate or missing records are handled.
03Choose the available interface
Exports, scheduled reports and a supported system interface serve different needs. Integration depends on the required data, software platforms and available connections.
04Confirm the scope with both suppliers
Agree supported equipment, access controls, transfer frequency, data format, responsibilities and charges. Ask for the actual interface documentation before committing development work.
05Test representative records
Include normal transactions, corrections, duplicate identifiers and delayed uploads. Reconcile totals across systems before relying on the exchange for management decisions.
Practical guidance
Plan records for LPG, CNG and vehicle charging
Different energy sources need different units and a defined data route.
| Record type | Fields and checks |
|---|---|
| LPG or CNG | Identify the meter/provider, product and reported unit. Keep volume, mass and any conversion basis explicit. |
| Vehicle charging | Identify the charger/provider, vehicle, session, time period, kWh and cost basis. Do not report electrical energy as litres. |
| Combined reporting | Use consistent asset and site identifiers while keeping source records and units distinct. Agree import/interface availability and validation for the proposed service. |
This is an integration-planning checklist. It does not establish that a liquid-fuel dispenser handles gaseous fuel or that Fueltek supplies a vehicle charger.

Vehicle mileage
Automatic mileage with DataNozzle
DataNozzle can combine recorded fuel use with automatic mileage from a compatible vehicle output or API integration. This supports vehicle consumption reporting without a manual mileage entry at each issue. We match the data connection, vehicle identifiers and units to your fleet.
