Cobo Tankers
Cobo Tankers help to manufacture, repair, and supply lorry and semi-trailer tankers, which are primarily used in the transportation of oil and fuel to commercial sites. Cobo are a Spanish-based company and are manufacturing tankers to be used on the HS2 project in the UK.
The Challenge: Shipping and Integration
Cobo approached us Cobo based on a recommendation for our ability to supply fuel and tank monitoring systems. Cobo were in the market for fuel storage tanks, fuel monitoring systems, and a Tankwatch fuel tank monitoring system. However, due to the nature of this client being overseas, shipping difficulties presented themselves as a frequent issue. Moreover, Cobo were looking for fuel and tank monitoring systems that could be easily integrated with their tankers, to allow for easy installation.
The Solution: Tank-Mounted Fuel Monitoring
Based on Cobo’s requirements, we suggested the FT4000 fuel monitoring system. This system is reliable yet simple to operate, providing a solution for the logistical installation issues at hand. The FT4000 is usually a wall-mounted or pedestal unit. However, Cobo’s requirement for mounting directly onto their tankers resulted in our team adapting these units to meet their needs. We also recommended TankWatch to assist with fuel storage tank management as it provides data on aspects such as tank capacity and stock movement which works in combination with the FT4000.
Results: Innovative Solutions
Whilst there was the technical challenge of mounting this system to Cobo’s tankers, our team were able to create a solution that not only integrated with the daily operations of the client but was also able to be shipped to Spain. We are proud to have provided Cobo a completely customised service and are constantly adapting our processes to make them more accessible to overseas businesses.
GRS Roadstone Limited
GRS Roadstone Limited provide sourcing, handling, and transportation for businesses. They are industry leaders in this field, and they provide construction materials for some of the UK’s largest construction projects.
The Challenge: Replacing and Upgrading Existing Systems
With 13 sites across the UK, GRS needed to be able to rely on their fuel systems for transporting goods across the country reliably and securely and were looking to make their operations more efficient using our service. They wished to install a selection of 30 KL fuel tanks with security across eight different sites, in addition to replacing their existing tanks with those of a smaller volume. This project also presented the challenge of causing minimal disruption to the day-to-day running of their business.
The Solution: Nationwide Onsite Fuel Management
Following a detailed consideration of GRS’ needs, we suggested the implementation of eight 30 KL bunded fuel tanks, five 25KL bunded diesel tanks, twelve FT4000 fuel pumps with integrated Fueltek FMO software, and eight TankWatch fuel monitoring systems. In addition to these suggestions, we also provided additional monitoring telematics equipment and software and fuel access methods for enhanced security. Our team then went across the country to install these systems efficiently so that GRS were minimally disturbed by our work.
