TomTom 6000
We will start by saying this sat nav is not cheap, with most outlets selling it from £250 upwards. However, it probably is the best one out there, with a range of fantastic features.
It includes a TomTom traffic service, which allows you to receive real time traffic information, along with updates on incidents that take place along your chosen route. It also keeps you informed of anything that might impact your original arrival time.
It has a massive 6inch touch screen with 3D instructions that make it easier to follow. There are spoken directions too, which makes it nearly impossible to miss your turn off!
The TomTom 6000 is even perfect to use abroad, as it contains information for 45 European countries, making road trips abroad simple.
Garmin Nuvi 2599 LMT – D
This sat nav is good value for money at £150, and is probably one of the best models under £200, as it offers premium navigation features in a shiny and fashionable design.
Some of the features include a responsive 5inch touch screen and a built in receiver which will keep you updated about live traffic. It also has both voice recognition and voice activation, so it always responds to your voice.
There is a ‘Real Directions’ feature that provides spoken instructions using recognisable landmarks, buildings and traffic lights. This means you no longer have to physically look out for street names.
We think that this one is well worth the money!
TomTom Go 40 4.3
An excellent sat nav for a bargain price! This sat nav will set you back around £99.99 and will help you arrive at your destinations much quicker.
It has a 4.3 inch touch screen, voice control and an interactive map which allows you to zoom in and out when looking for your destination.
A bonus feature to this sat nav is that you can receive TomTom Traffic updates and download four more updates of your pre-installed map every year, for as long as your product lasts.
If you’re looking for a sat nav with brilliant features but don’t want to break the bank, this is a very good choice.
